Liza Leal, Chief Medical Officer of Meridian Medical Dental Executive Healthcare, earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center-Medical School at Houston in 1996, and then completed her post-graduate training at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston Texas. Doctor Leal is certified by the American Academy of Pain Management. She also acts as a Consultant and Director of Medical Development for physicians who wish to establish pain management centers in their practices. She recently has been named to the faculty of the American Academy of Pain Management, in addition, to the speaker’s bureau for the American Academy of Pain Management and the American Academy of Family Practice.
Dr. Leal’s is an accomplished speaker who has given presentations on Arthritis and Depression, Nutrition in Pain Management, and Arthritis in the Bedroom to a number of community and academic groups and gatherings. She also finds time in her busy schedule to serve as consulting correspondent on pain and pain management for the UPN and Telemundo networks. Currently she acts as a consultant with local and national organizations where she compiles information for district, regional and national media ventures. She also aids in the development of literature, acts as medical expert and is an active member of numerous speakers’ bureaus.
In Arthritis Campaign and Ataca Tu Artritis Campagna, Dr. Leal jointly with actor Eric Estrada “Ponch” from Chips reached 11 million in a satellite media tour. In each campaign gift packages were sent to the viewers, who called in and those who participated in community workshops which include Dr. Leal’s “Top Ten Tips to Manage Arthritis for Life” and “Top Ten Tips to Manage Arthritis at Home and at Work”. In the airings of “On the Road to Joint Pain Relief” infomercial Dr. Leal, serves as a medical expert in the 30 minute infomercial.
Dr. Leal’s unique personal story has given authority as both a medical expert as well as a patient to share the opportunity of her personal story which inspires others to achieve. Dr. Leal’s goal is to reach the 86 million Americans, who suffer from chronic pain in her current published book now available at Barnes and Nobles titled: Live Well Today with Chronic Pain. Dr. Leal is currently in the progress of publishing her second book entitled Cupid’s Challenge. A handbook for arthritis and other chronic pain suffers to help achieve an improved & satisfying sex life. Dr. Leal’s mission is to help inspire others to live their personal dream through the art of medicine and the inspiration of personal responsibility to achieve their individual dreams. She was recently recognized by the American Women’s Business Institute and awarded the 2007 Entrepreneur of the Year.
